Why might you be owed money?
When you closed, you were probably provided a credit from the seller for estimated tax prorations. In many instances, the credit is based on an estimate and not the actual tax bill. Because of this, the tax liability that you owe is often greater than the estimate that the credit was based on. If this occurs, in some instances, you may have the right to obtain payment from the builder to adjust for the difference. Whether or not the builder is required to pay you, and the amount you might be owed, if so, is a complex analysis that may be difficult to navigate on your own. We can help.
