Homes Selling in Record Time – “Blink of An Eye” – National Association of Realtors

A recent article on REALTOR Magazine’s website reports that, according to realtor.com®’s latest Monthly Housing Trends Report, homes are selling in record time at an average of 43 days – 20 days fewer than a year ago. The article further reported that in some parts of the country listings are going from “just listed” to “sold” in what seems like a blink of an eye in real estate terms. The article highlighted three markets where homes were being sold the fastest on average this month, which were:

  • Denver, Colorado: 15 days
  • Columbus, Ohio: 16 days
  • Austin, Texas: 18 days

Locally, the Tampa – St. Petersburg – Clearwater, Fla market is averaging 32 days on the market, 11 days quicker than the national average. The median list price in this market is up 17.3% over last year, which is just a tick over the national average of a 17.2% increase.
